Before Drag Show

Are you planning on seeing the drag show this evening? Jeff has explained some of it to me.

It is a performance where those involved dress in exaggerated versions of gender roles, regardless of the individual’s gender.

I offered to assist with costuming and makeup for the performers before the event.

Jeff also has offered to do makeup for me. I turned him down because I do not think it would look good.

…But I have been considering it.

I hope that would not be too embarrassing.

It cannot be emphasized how quickly Dedue says no to that idea.

I would try some makeup and clothing for myself. But I would be in the audience.

He can't imagine Dedue performing on any stage. Not and enjoy it, at any rate.

He feels a strange cocktail of emotions at that. One the one hand, he can’t help but think fondly of how very cute Dimitri would look in a dress, how nice it would be for them to attend the event together and support each other.

On the other hand, there is a tinge of jealousy at how much better Dimitri would look in a dress than he would. Dimitri’s face and body are much more suited for it than Dedue’s are. Standing next to him, Dedue would feel like a fool. Maybe he should just scrap the whole idea.

Or you can wear the outfit, and I can support you. It might be more practical that way.
